Discussion:
Any interest in the TV series on DVD?

I've found a place with both the 60's series and the '86 remake on laserdisc
... granted, they're Japanese imports with, apparently, a few subtitles ...
but I can vidcap these into the computer and then burn DVD's, if any one is
interested. As the LD set's aren't cheap, I'm hoping I can recoup some of that
cost ... are ~100 episodes of the TV series worth, say, $100?

Thanks for any feedback.

Are they in English? Subtitles are okay.

Apparently they have both English and Japanese audio -- I'm thinking left
track is English, right is Japanese. Obviously I'd duplicate the English track
to both sides for the DVD masters :D

Maybe a market for me?
I am recording MI from TV onto DVD-R
Got season 1 last month, getting season 2 this month.
It is unknown if my DVD-R will be compatible on DVD players outside region 4
(Australia/NZ).
Do not know about copyright in this case.

Mr Smith

Turns out that only the first four seasons are available on LD, and are
stupidly expensive (about US$700 a season) ... so I'll be patiently waiting
for DVD release, or taping off-the-air like the rest of us :(
